1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DiscipleLink ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a church, ministry, or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
2. Description of Service
DiscipleLink is a digital discipleship platform that provides churches and ministries with tools for community management, reading plans, journals, book assignments, group activities, and member engagement. The Platform is provided on a licensed basis to approved communities.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years of age to use DiscipleLink.
- Users under 18 should use the Platform under the awareness and supervision of a parent, guardian, or church leader.
- Children under 13 are not permitted to create accounts or use the Platform. If you are under 13, please have a parent or guardian contact us.
- Community administrators must be authorized representatives of their church or organization.
4. Account Registration
To use DiscipleLink, you must be invited by a community administrator or have your community application approved. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the security of your account credentials.
- Notify us immediately of unauthorized access to your account.
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
5. Community Licensing
Communities are granted a license for a specified number of member accounts. Community administrators are responsible for:
- Managing their community within the licensed member count.
- Ensuring community members comply with these Terms.
- Managing group leaders and member roles appropriately.
- Responding to support requests from their community members.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Post content that is hateful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory.
- Share or distribute another member's personal information without consent.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation.
- Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data from the Platform.
- Upload malicious content or code.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
7. Content
7.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create on DiscipleLink (journal entries, responses, comments). By posting content, you grant DiscipleLink a non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the Platform.
7.2 Community Content
Reading plans, journal templates, and book assignments created by administrators are owned by their respective communities. DiscipleLink does not claim ownership of community content.
7.3 Content Moderation
Community administrators and group leaders are responsible for moderating content within their communities. DiscipleLink reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
8. Privacy
Your use of DiscipleLink is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Pastoral and Spiritual Content
DiscipleLink facilitates spiritual growth tools but does not provide professional counseling, therapy, or medical advice. Journal entries and group discussions are spiritual in nature and should not be treated as substitutes for professional help. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact appropriate professional services.
10. Data Handling by Community Administrators
Community administrators and group leaders have access to member data within their communities (including activity logs, reading progress, and journal entries shared within groups). By joining a community, you acknowledge that your community's administrators and leaders will have access to your engagement data as part of the discipleship process.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may request account deletion at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion request:
- A 30-day grace period allows you to cancel the request.
- After 30 days, your personal data will be anonymized.
- Community content you created (group activity records) will be attributed to "Deleted User."
12. Disclaimers
DiscipleLink is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible for the content, actions, or policies of third-party services integrated with the Platform.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DiscipleLink shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Texas.
